NT Quest Day 220 - John 5
Scripture: John 5: 28 “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice 29 and come out—those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned. 30 By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me. Observation: Life is found in Jesus alone. Those in Him will rise to life even though dead. Those outside of Christ will rise…but only to death. Jesus’ judgement comes from the Father. All he does pleases the Father. Application: The Jews were after Jesus. They were looking for any reason to discredit him and have him put to death. Jesus however, never waivers from the task God has given him to do. God had given him authority to judge…power to give life…and everything Jesus did was just. Because everything he did was to please the Father. That was his goal…his purpose. I want that to be mine…don’t you want it to be yours as well? Everything to please the Father. Nothing done on my own…for my own…but everything for Him. Make that your goal today. Your purpose. Prayer: God my goal today is to please you. You alone. Give me everything I need to do your will. All of it is yours God. Use me for your purposes. I pray in Jesus name, Amen.
