Scripture:

John 2:

¹¹ This, the first of his miraculous signs, Jesus performed at Cana in Galilee. He thus revealed his glory, and his disciples put their faith in him.

Observation:

John is keen to Jesus miracles.  He records them more than the other Gospel writers.  This is Jesus’ first miracle.  It was obviously moving for the disciples.

Application:

Can you remember when you first placed your faith in Jesus?  Do you remember how moved you were?  I was a scrawny little 8th grader at church camp when I realized my need for a Savior.  I was so moved by Jesus then…so easily in awe.

I’ll admit it’s harder these days to capture that awe.  Jesus hasn’t changed.  I have…and not all for the better. 

Daily…I must remember my Savior’s love, grace, mercy…even patience.  The goal is not to get better each day…but to love the Savior each day.  I’m not much better as it is…but I do still love my Jesus.

Prayer:

God move us today.  Draw us to your side so we might see the Savior and fall at his feet in awe.  Transform the hearts of those far from you…their moment of faith awaits.  I pray in Jesus name, Amen.
